Knowing whether a property is located within a flood zone
and whether an elevation certificate is available for the property are
important factors in any real estate transaction.
Besides being important from a disclosure perspective, a flood
zone determination will help determine if purchasing flood insurance is
mandatory for the property in question.
With an elevation certificate, properties located in flood zones can
receive lower flood insurance rates.
For property within the City limits, Scottsdale offers free flood zone
determinations.
This application has been designed to provide on-line (Internet)
access to flood zone information.
This information is not a legal substitute
for the flood plain maps that are provided by FEMA. We suggest that you
refer to the FEMA flood plain maps if your property appears to be near
any flood insurance required areas. Please call the Records Department at
the City of Scottsdale (phone number listed below) for assistance.

certificates are NOT downloadable thru this web site, and must be received
from the City of Scottsdale One Stop Shop.
This information can also be
obtained thru Scottsdale's One Stop Shop.
To receive this
service, just call, fax, write, or drop by the Records Department in
the One Stop Shop with an address or legal description of the

will assist you in gathering all of the information that is necessary to
complete your flood zone determination.
Copies of elevation certificates, which are available for most
construction completed within the last ten years, can also be accessed through
the Records Department.
