Request
Request by the City of Scottsdale to recommend approval for the adoption of a proposed new General Plan for Scottsdale, entitled "General Plan 2035", in order to revisit and revise the community's long term objectives and land development policies for future growth, development and redevelopment and to amend existing GP elements and add the new GP elements required by State law.The proposed General Plan 2035 is intended to comply with State law requiring cities to revisit and adopt a General Plan every ten (10) years and send the adopted GP to the voters for ratification. One of the many changes in the proposed GP 2035, is a new, more restrictive, Desert Rural Residential Land Use category.The proposed GP 2035, if adopted and later ratified by the voters, would change the current GP Land Use Map and the land use designations of approximately 7800 acres.
